I’m in love.

Yesterday morning I was woken up by a massive thunderstorm. Since I had not seen the sun since Sunday, I was wondering if I should start building an ark and collecting pairs of cute animals. Around lunch time the sun started to come out so I didn’t have to worry about what a boat full of animals would do to my allergies.photo 1 (10)Note to self: never go to work the day after Christmas. You will be bored and alone and wishing you were in pajamas. My legs were itching for some excitement. And I had a Garmin just dying to be used….

My mom hooked me up with some sweet new running clothes too ;)

I ran a grand total of one mile (ha!) All of that rain brought in some wicked cold temps and Matt decided about 10 feet into our run that running was a bad idea (he has been feeling less than stellar then past few days). I hit one mile and dashed to a hot shower. But all it took was that one mile for me to fall head over heels in love with my Garmin Forerunner 410. After a year of running with a bulky iPhone, my biceps were free! And Garmin Connect may very well be the most wonderful thing that I have ever experienced. I didn’t get to play around with it too much but can’t wait for a real run Friday.

Matt and I have an insane amount of leftovers from last week so we are playing “Empty the Fridge” this week. Matt chose to attack the rouladen, I tackled the taco chili:

Then I used my new teapot to make some hot tea.

Leftovers: yay or nay?

I loovveee leftovers!

Did Santa bring you a White Christmas?

My family got a white Christmas in Dallas without me. I am so jealous.

Thunderstorms freak me out..oh the lightening and the crazy noise..I usually put on some loud music to drown it out.

  2. We’ve had a lot of snow the last few months, but none on Christmas day. My husband was a little disappointed, especially since our family is in DFW, too. They got the snow and we didn’t! Oh, well!*

  3. We had a white Christmas! I was pretty shocked since I heard on the radio that Denver has a 37% chance of a white Christmas every year and Colorado Springs is even lower. But we woke up to a little snow on Christmas morning

  6. I don’t like most left-overs, but soups are the exception. They always seem to be better the second time around. Your French bread with goat cheese, parmesan, and parsley toast looks like the perfect side to any soup!

  7. I love leftovers! And we had snow the day after Christmas and yesterday, which was close enough to Christmas so I was happy with that!

  8. Look at you all outfitted for your run. I look forward to hearing more about your Garmin. I really want one!! My sis in southern Oklahoma had a white Christmas too…meanwhile in Minnesota our snow is now more like ice clumps! Crazy!

    • I love snow but not a big fan of ice. Luckily my mother buys me running clothes for Christmas. If she didn’t I’d be running all over town in the same ratty old race shirts :)
