Recently I noticed that my food choices have been pretty boring. I choose the same thing every time I open the fridge and I have been seriously lacking in my fruit and veggie department. So, for the past few days I have been making a conscious effort to taste the colors of the rainbow to soak up all of the nutrients the different colored vegetables and fruits have to offer. I have to say I have been pretty successful and my tastebuds are quite satisfied.
Squash, sweet potatoes, dolmas, peppers, red onion, peas, chicken salad with pecans and cranberries, broccoli.

Fried egg, Laughing Cow wedge, avocado, red onion whole wheat sandwich with tomato on the side
Ground chicken, avocado, salsa, colby taco
Whole grain chips, salsa with spinach/spring mix salad, red onion, tomato, cucumber, avocado, cheddar, chicken salad
Hearts, stars, and horseshoes, clovers and blue moons, pots of gold and rainbows, and a red ballon!
Ok, so Lucky Charms maybe is not loaded with nutritional goodness. BUT it definitely has all of the colors of the rainbow and is technically made with whole grains so it could be a lot worse…right? Anyway, I am loving how bright and colorful my plates are lately and will continue to gobble up some ROY G BIV (<——flashback to elementary school acronym right there)
When I go to the gym I stick to what I know and try to not look like a fool. Well, I finally realized this was the dumbest attitude in the whole wide world and today I took my first ever spin class. Actually, this was my first fitness group class ever. I am the queen of the workout video but had no idea what the class would be like. After a quick how-to with the bike, I was off. We did 10 minutes on the bike, 4 minutes of ab work with the bosu ball back and forth for 55 minutes total. It was tough. I was sweaty. I probably looked like a fool. I had a blast. This will definitely not be my last spin class. so. much. fun.

/ January 6, 2013Lucky Charms are my absolute favorite cereal. I can’t buy it for my house though because I would eat the whole box in one sitting.

/ January 5, 2013ooh great job for trying something new! I did a spin class similar to what you described last year. It wasn’t at my gym though, so it was extra, and unfortunately I couldn’t keep it up to keep paying for it. Hope you go back lots!

/ January 5, 2013I’ve really been thinking about trying out a spin class, but I’m like you, I know nothing about it and don’t want to look like a moron! But I hear it’s fantastic workout and great cross-training. Also, what do you think about ground chicken? I’ve never had it, but have a few friends who swear by it!
