A keg of chai tea

Last night I was woken up by a small group of babies crying in my front yard. Not really, but that is what it sounded like. It was actually just random neighborhood cats. It’s not bad enough that they torture my sinuses but now they need to cry in my front lawn all night? Stupid, cats.

Last night while Matt was reading my blog post about the day he spoiled me, he said “Man, I am a great boyfriend.” And then I could tell it was coming… “Maybe tomorrow morning you can make your great boyfriend a BLT for breakfast?” I’ve bamboozled myself.

We then enjoyed our breakfast in bed while watching Matt’s favorite sports talk show, Mike & Mike. I know way more about sports than I care to just because this is on every morning as I get ready for work.

Thanks to staying up past my bedtime, the late night cat party, and just normal not wanting to go to work-itis, I needed to add some pep to my step. So I called in the big guns…or better yet, the Bubba Keg.

Filled to the brim with iced chai tea. I was a jittery mess until well after lunch.

There are two things I love about the first few weeks of January:

  1. leftover Christmas candy

My co-workers sure know the way to my heart...

  2. tons of fitness related Groupons

Today I bought 10 classes for $30 to a local fitness studio. The perfect sequel to the 5 for $25 I bought for the other fitness studio on Christmas Eve. If I like studio #2 half as much as studio #1 I will be a very happy, fit gal.

Today is a running rest day but I did 8 hours of cardio/strength training while packing at work so I am pooped and ready for a lazy evening. Tomorrow my plan is to run for one hour after work to see where I am half mary wise. If I can do it and not die, then I will register for the March race and follow a 10 week training plan. It is probably not a super smart idea to try to test myself just a few days before a race (Hot Chocolate Race in Atlanta Sunday!) but I never claimed to be smart.

Do you watch TV as you get ready for work?

Have you found any good New Years fitness deals?

How long do you train for races?

Honestly, I’ve never train but def want to stick to a plan for the 13.1.

Haha a bubba keg is a great idea for tea! Now I can use all of those college bubba kegs again :)

  3. Ahh leftover Christmas foods. My favorite are the cookies, except there usually isn’t too much leftover since I eat them all :( I use living social but maybe I should sign up for groupons too… cheap yoga classes are exactly what I need when I go back to school

  4. Oh I so wanted to run the hot chocolate race but I waited too late to sign up and they filled up. The race is just a couple miles from my house so maybe I will go cheer y’all on :)

  6. Not a cat fan here, but at least I’m not allergic and don’t have them crying at my house in the middle of the night! That sounds tragic. You two ate BLTs for breakfast? That is…interesting :)

  8. THANK YOU GIRL!
Why? Because you totally reminded me about fitness coupons online. I did that a lot last year but haven’t even thought of doing it this year. I’m looking now, thank you!!
