All of those sleepless nights really caught up with me. I was forgetful and dragging tail all day. Today is my last day in the office until our move starts on Monday so I have to have everything packed up and ready to go before I leave today. That means I have spent all day wandering around to find empty trash cans to dump crap that should have been thrown out years ago, searching for packing tape on the black market and making under the table deals to get more boxes. I think I owe someone my spleen in exchange for the last few boxes in the building. I eventually just started throwing things in boxes so there is more than one box labeled like this:
Unpacking is going to be a nightmare.
Needless to say, I was not loving life. So I did what I tend to do when life gets me down: find chocolate. I got to the vending machine and when I opened my wallet, I was greeted with a coin pocket full of pennies and Express coupons where my cash should be. Doh. Looks like it’s time to play hit-up-the-boss-lady-for-some-silver-coins. $1 later…
Man, those elves really know how to make a cookie.
I finished up those miniature cookies from heaven (inside of a tree?) and got back to packing. Then, I heard those magic words that everyone with coworkers loves to hear “I brought some cookies to share with everyone”
That’s right. I took two. These are Publix cookies. You CAN’T have just one; it’s not possible. I have officially eaten a days worth of calories in the form of cookies. Delicious, chocolatey, sugary cookies.
Some might look at this as a failure of a day, but they would be wrong. This is actually part of my training plan for Sunday’s Hot Chocolate Run in Atlanta. I may not be the fastest person at the race but I will most certainly be the first person to lick my finisher’s bowl of chocolate fondue clean. Please let me know if you want me to help you plan your training schedule for your upcoming Hot Chocolate run. It will look something like this:
Ok, that is all of the chocolate talk I have for today. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a smidge of self control so that I can post about something worth reading.
What is your go to pleasure food?
Chocolate (obvi)
Are you an organized packer?
Absolutely not.
