Wowza, ESPN has been overloaded with breaking news this week! First Lance now Manti Te’o's girlfriend was a hoax?! I follow minimal football but his story caught my attention, along with the rest of the sport world, when he grandma and girlfriend died on the same day then he went on to play an awesome game. But apparently, his girlfriend was a made up online person by his “friend”?! This is officially the weirdest, saddest, sickest, most confusing story I have ever heard. If you are living under a rock haven’t heard about this yet I suggest reading the story. Also, I am super skeptical and very curious to see what comes out in the coming weeks about what his role was in this. Anyway, back to my normal ramblings…
Murphy’s Law: When you are poor ,you will want everything you see in a store/online. When you have gift cards, everything will look meh.
I think complaining about not knowing what to buy with gift cards is the epitome of #firstworldproblems
Wednesday night I browsed around online stores for longer than I care to admit. What did I end up buying? Triftshop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on iTunes for a whopping $1.29. If you have not heard this song yet please check it out here. It really cracks me up and I can relate because I really love ‘grandpa style’. As for the rest of the cards, I guess I will have to haul my butt to the actual store to see if something strikes my fancy in person. Oh, the horror!
Somewhere in between loading and unloading my virtual shopping cart, I ate dinner. Tuesday night after our run Matt made a cheesy pasta chicken broccoli dish and it tasted just as delicious as the first night.
I also managed to swing by the grocery store after my Rowlates class to pick up some no refrigerator/microwave friendly lunch supplies. I settled on Peanut Butter and Co Dark Chocolate Dreams and bananas so that I could make an Elvis worthy PB&J.
In case you are wondering, this peanut butter flavor is the most wonderful thing that has ever existed. Trust me. Matt requested something for dessert so I grabbed my good friends Ben & Jerry.
I was even a super awesome girlfriend and didn’t get my favorite flavor, Red Velvet Cake, because Matt doesn’t like it. I know what you are thinking and yes, I thought about ending it with him when I learned this but he cooks and gives me foot massages so I have learned to live with his lack of good taste in ice cream. I wanted to practice some self control so I told myself I would only have one spoonful. Then proceeded to find the largest spoon in the kitchen…
The ladle was dirty or else I totally would have used that instead
