Yesterday was quite possibly the least healthy day I have had since I was 22 yr old and thought that an avocado taco and a pitcher of Long Islands was a nutritional meal. My day started with oatmeal and an apple for a breakfast (not bad), a baked potato with a Laughing Cow wedge and Colby cheese for lunch (yes, two kinds of cheese and no veggies), Lucky Charms for dinner (oops) and M&Ms for dessert (clearly waving the white flag at this point).
I could blame my poor food choices on being super busy at work for 16 hours. But honestly, I think that was a just a good excuse to eat this magical deliciousness for dinner. Living the dream of a 7 year old picky eater.
This morning I was slow moving thanks too little sleep and just not wanting to go into work. But this pretty view helped the drive:
And then when I got to work my new fav co-worker, Ladybug, was waiting on my desk.
Having ladybugs flying around all the time is definitely the best thing about the new office. At noon I said goodbye to Ladybug and headed out for a 4 mile run. After a week of bad runs, this run was fantastic. It wasn’t super speedy but I made it and it felt GOOD.
I’m sure my day of potatoes and sugary cereal wasn’t the best possible way to fuel for this run, but I’m still working on it.
Also, it was gorgeous out. This summer when I am running in 100+ degrees and 90% humidity and wondering why I live in Florida, someone please remind me of my January run in 68 degrees
Living in the state capital of a swing state, things can get pretty politically heated. Things have certainly calmed down since the election but there are still all kinds of protests/demonstrations/etc quite frequently on the steps of the Old Capitol building. On the way to and from work I pass the Ol Cap (we’re BFF so I can abbrev like that) so I have seen many, many odd people out there for a variety of causes. However, today I drove past what is possibly the oddest demonstration I have ever seen.
Oh, you can’t read the sign? It says ‘Hail Satan! Hail Rick Scott’. I’m all about 1st amendment goodness but really, Hail Satan? Obvi, I had to google this immediately when I came home. In case you are curious about the Tallahassee crazies and their reaction to Senate Bill 98, check this out. And also, don’t move to Florida. We’re full of whackos.
How was your run today?
Are you in a political hot spot?
I’m pretty sure everyone’s eyes on on FL every election since we still don’t know how to vote.

/ January 25, 2013Ran 3. Still feeling better. We are adjusting to life in AZ, where everything is about “iilegals”. How exactly can a PERSON be “illegal?” A person can’t be illegal. They are undocumented.

/ January 25, 2013Today is my day off… tomorrow I’ll run 5 miles and go to a yoga class. Honestly, I can’t wait. It’s been uncharacteristically cloudy and I think the only way to cheer me up is to get this body moving.
I’m in AZ, too, so there’s lots going on here. I’m from Detroit so there are issues there as well. Ah, well.

/ January 26, 2013Rnadom question: What Garmin do you use? I live in California, a very democratic state, but I also live in Orange County, incredibly republican, so things get heated over here politically pretty frequently!
