After popping my head into the office for a few minutes today, I was out for another wonderfully overcast run. I am being seriously spoiled with this weather. I decided to switch it up from my usual spot and got in some hills. My glutes felt it.

After seeing this pic Matt has requested I start wearing Garmy on my right hand as to not skew the size of my new rock.
This run was slightly less miserable than Wednesday’s run. Hopefully I got all of the awful out of me because on the schedule for Sunday is 6 miles. And the only thing worse than 3 bad miles is 6 bad miles. As soon as I got home I dropped to the floor to do some ab work and pushups. I have really been slacking on my pushup plan so have decided to do 10 REAL pushups a day for the rest of the month to get in the habit.
The theme of the day was switch it up apparently because I also decided against my normal Friday fried egg and avocado sandwich for a scrambled egg and avocado pita.
I know. I’m living on the edge.
The rest of my day was spent waiting for the cable man to show up and give us a new modem. Matt called a few days ago to see about lowering our monthly bill and they said we can lower our bill by adding a land line. I am pretty sure that logic only works in crazy town but I’ve been a resident for years so we now have a land line…with no land phone. I don’t even know our phone number. I am hoping that the next time I go to Macy’s they tell me it is cheaper to buy the shoes and the purse instead of just buying the purse.
All of this waiting around gave me plenty of time to watch Four Weddings do important things. Last week I did a recap of my New Year’s resolutions and realized that I was really slacking on my goal to save money. I decided to really focus on this for the month of February, hence Mr. Cable Man’s visit. I also decided I am paying wayyy too for my car insurance. So I did what any rational person would do: took a caveman’s recommendation.
Let me tell you. That 15 minute call saved me wayyyyy more than 15%. How much you ask? My old car insurance was $115 monthly. Geico? $66 monthly for the Same. Exact. Coverage. Thanks, Caveman!
*Disclaimer: I am not paid by Geico or a Caveman. I am just a very happy gal with $49 extra in her pocket every month.
Do you have a land line?
Do you have a favorite commercial?
I love the mayhem insurance commercials. And anything with talking babies.
Any money saving tips?

/ February 8, 2013A land line..does anyone who is not our parents have a landline anymore!? I love that you don’t know your phone number, that’s hilarious! You should learn it though so you can give that number out when you sign up for freebies and get the telemarketers who call you after that..because a phone will never ring.
My favorite commercials are the ones with the man in the suit and the children focus groups. They kill me! I also like Geico’s new commercial with the basketball player who just hits everything away from the people who are tossing it. Here’s the link, because my description does not do the commercial justice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J9mo9dJgZg

/ February 8, 2013Girl, I need to save money too. Like crazy. I had a breakdown tonight about all the money Luke and I just spent on our trip to LA (we booked it through expedia so we had to pay everything upfront last night). I keep reminding myself we got a REALLY good deal and have 2 months before we go on the trip to build our cash back up for food, shopping, and cab rides. I just really try to not buy little things I don’t need (like coffee and clothes), because they really do add up. I am notorious for going shopping just because I have a coupon, even when I don’t really need or want anything. This happens to be every damn month at Express with their *$50 off of $125* cards. Grr. I’ve resisted so far this month! It’s definitely difficult, especially when you’re trying to save up for something big. I feel your pain.
And p.s., I love how you incorporate the ring in all your pictures :p Keep it up!

/ February 9, 2013I am also a mayhem fan. And the eTrade commercials. We have a land line but I don’t know what the number is. I use it to call in to 1-800 conference calls.
