Warning: This post contains a ridic amount of gorgeous pictures that will probably make those currently under 4 feet of snow extremely jealous.
Yesterday morning Matt and I woke up to absolutely gorgeous weather and no plans. We ran a few errands and then decided that the day was too beautiful to waste doing anything other than being outside. Since cross training was on the schedule and we had so much fun riding bikes last weekend, we decided to load up the bikes and head to the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge.
We parked at the ranger station and rode 7 miles into the wind to the lighthouse:

I may be biased but I think our lighthouse is still the most beautiful ![]()
We strolled through the beach trail for a little bit. It was low tide so we were able to go further than we normally are:
Friday night Matt’s iPhone 5 was delivered so we also played around with the panoramic pics:
After sufficiently goofing off enough, we hopped back on the bikes:
The ride back to the car was much less of a struggle since the wind was at our back. Round trip is about 14 miles so it was a perfect casual Saturday morning ride. Normally we are able to see lots of wildlife but there were too many people taking advantage of the good weather so most of the animals stayed out of sight. All we were able to see were a few birds (no idea what they were), one mullet (the fish, not the hairstyle) and one alligator.
What is your favorite way to take advantage of perfect weather?

/ February 10, 2013I don’t even live in New England right now and I’m jealous of all that weather. But I agree- your lighthouse is much better

/ February 10, 2013Love it! I Love being outside when it’s gorgeous out. Usually for a nice run, but let’s be honest. If it’s like 80 or above, I’m by the pool or at the beach. The other day it wasn’t warm enough to sunbathe, but it was still beautiful, so I sat on the beach in my little beach chair and watched the waves . So peaceful and so beautiful.
