Now that we are full steam ahead on the wedding planning train, my wedding radar is heightened. I can hear the words “reception” “lace” and “bride” from miles away. I am all over Pinterest and finally feel justified in watching the horrible TLC shows that I have already been watching for years. I also find myself thinking back to all of the TV and movie weddings I have watched over the years. And since I am all about lists, here is a list of my personal Top Ten Favorite On Screen Wedding Moments:
10. Buttercup and Prince Humperdinck from The Princess Bride
Mawwiage is what bwings us togeddar…
9. David and Donna from Beverly Hills, 90210

Happy ending…even though David was a Dbag that didn’t deserve a second chance.
I was obsessed with this zip code and wanted these two to get married since season one so this wedding was a big deal to middle school Karen.
8. Toula and Ian from My Big Fat Greek Wedding
If I wake up with a zit on my wedding day I will follow this movies advice and just “put some Windex on it”
7. Ross and Rachel from Friends
Sure Phoebe and Monica had great weddings and Ross had a gazillion to choose from but how can you not love a mustached Rachel drunkingly yelling “Hello, Mr Rachel!’” and the hilarity of their drunken Vegas wedding?
6. Sophie and Sky…but really Donna and Sam…from Mamma Mia!
Greece, singing and shenanigans? This is my dream wedding…minus the paternal confusion and last minute couple swap.
5. Akeem Joffer and Zamunda from Coming to America
This wedding did not ever happen but it’s still worthy of my list. I am trying to convince Matt that we need to incorporate this dance sequence into our processional.
4. Robbie and Julia from The Wedding Singer
I think that “I wanna grow old with you” is one of the sweetest songs that has ever been sung. That’s not a joke, I really love it.
3. Lorelei and Gus & Dorothy and Malone from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Just two little girls from Little Rock getting married and singing songs.
2. Prince William and Kate Middleton
When I was 10 years old I had posters of Prince William on my wall like most girls had posters of JTT. I woke up at 4am to watch Kate live out my fairytale dream and loved every minute of it.
1. Annie and Bryan from Father of the Bride
This is one of my all time favorite movies. Steve Martin can do no wrong. I find myself thinking of this movie every time I do anything wedding related.
What is your favorite TV/movie wedding?
Matt thinks I’m cuckoo for cocoa puffs for ranking anything above the Princess Bride.

/ March 20, 2013Well the wedding never happens, but I love Allie’s dress in the Notebook. All the lace is my dream. I love MBFGW and the fact that you included an old school Marilyn movie. Huge black and white movie fan!

/ March 20, 2013The Princess Bride wedding is too funny. I’d go with Will and Kate.. even though they’re real people, that wedding was just the best ever.

/ March 20, 2013I agree. It’s hard to compete with a real life fairytale.

/ March 20, 2013Call me cheesy but Robbie & Julia (from the Wedding SInger) gets my vote… I’m such a sap for that movie, for some reason. I’d also add Whitley and Dwayne (from “A Different World” TV series)… their wedding that almost didn’t happen still gives me chills. Phew!
Enjoy being engaged…marriage is even better. You will Love it!

/ March 20, 2013Big Fat Greek Wedding is the best movie for pretty much all things (“The woman is the neck…” “Apples, oranges – we all different, but we all fruit!”, okay I’ll stop – but I love that movie!) But I think one of my top favorite pop-culture weddings has to be Jim and Pam. Or Corey and Topanga, if we’re asking 10 year old me.
Runner Girl Eats
/ March 20, 2013As soon as I pressed publish I remembered Corey and Topanga!! Def one of the best ever!
Natalie @ Twenty-Something Talk
/ March 20, 2013Father of the bride definitely earns its first place spot! One of my favorite movies EVER!

/ March 20, 2013Father of the Bride will always be my favorite wedding movie. My family always watches it together! Following that, I would have to say Jim and Pam from The Office or Lily and Marshall from HIMYM. They both technically got married twice. Adorbs
Runner Girl Eats
/ March 20, 2013Lilly and Marshalls is def another one of my favorites. I did not watch the Office but I think every comment has mention Jim and Pam…I will have to check out that episode at least!
