There were runs.

Today is my first day back at work in 10 days. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had 10 days off in a row. It has been wonderful…and exhausting. I need a vacation to recover from my vacation.

vacationOur vacation began at 1:44am on Thanksgiving with a 7 hour drive to Sunrise, FL, followed by two nights on Fort Lauderdale Beach, one night in Miami, three nights in Tallahassee, two nights in Destin, then two final nights in Tallahassee. Whew.

There were runs (more than pictured, I promise!):

Winter at the beach is dreamy

¬†Twas a wonderful week (plus some) of fun, friends, and family. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go watch Home Alone for the first of many times this holiday season. Speaking of Home Alone, check out the sweet shirt I got my sister aka the most Home Alone obsessed person I know:

  5. I’ll vote for the 1st Home Alone…I still remember when it came out, and going to the theater to see it

I went on a cruise with the hubs this summer and was off for about 10 days. A couple of years ago I was off work for 30 days to prep for my brother’s destination wedding. I think it was the best 30 days of my life, and it went by way too fast.

Home Alone is hands down my favorite Christmas movie ever.

I need to go eat with you. Your food always looks so dreamy. Also, wedding paella?! That’s the best decision I’ve heard someone make. My sister spend 2 years in Spain, so she’s amazing at cooking paella. I can’t shovel that stuff down fast enough.

  9. Sounds like such a great vacation! Your wedding paella looks dreamy.

  12. Fave christmas themed movie has to be the good ol’ Christmas Vacation. But the movie(s) we watch every christmas are Inglorious Bastards and Gone With the Wind :)

There’s nothing better than a long break though you do definitely need another break to get over those kinds of holidays! I had 10 days off in July which seems a lifetime ago now and technically I’m on a long weekend from work just now but I’ve been unwell and spent two days of that in the dentist’s office so not been the best holiday! :-(
